A Review Of "Pyramid Game"

 

I will review a story from a webtoon called "Pyramid Game" which has a thriller genre. This webtoon tells the story of the popular ranking game at Baekyeon Girls' High School. In one class, they played a student ranking game called the Pyramid Game, where students at the top level were allowed to bully students at the lower levels.

Story

In the next story, Baek Harin's real reason for making Pyramid Game is revealed. Meanwhile, Suji, Harin's main rival, is trying to bring down the Pyramid Game. In that class, the students always felt that Suji had a mindset similar to Baek Harin. Suji and Harin are considered to have sociopathic traits or lack empathy for their friends. Not without reason, Suji turned out to be like that because she often moved schools. she must always be able to adapt to new environments.

It turns out that Pyramid Game is Baek Harin's way of getting revenge on Myeong Jaeun. From the beginning, Baek Harin always told Seong Suji that Pyramid Game existed because of Myeong Jaeun. Apparently Baek Harin did use the Pyramid Game as a tool for revenge. Since they were both small back then, Baek Harin tried to poison his adoptive father who wanted to separate him from Myeong Jaeun. However, Jaeun reports to their mother that he doesn't want Harin to kill people. As a result, Baek Harin was admitted to an orphanage and subjected to a series of violence. When we meet again, it turns out that Myeong Jaeun lives a life of happiness. Even Jaeun never found out about Harin's violence. It caused Harin to get angry and created the Pyramid Game. she wants Jaeun, like herself, to not be able to feel happiness forever

 

Characterization

Each character in this webtoon has a strong character. For example, a calm suji character can fight Harin's evil plans because of his intelligence in reading the situation in her environment. As well as Harin's character, she is good at maintaining her good image in front of the public but behind she is a psychopath.

 

Picture

Good picture. The setting of the place is also carefully depicted, not arbitrary. The depiction of facial expressions is very good. The selection of appropriate colors also allows us to understand the mood of the character. And the most important thing is that each character has a unique face so that we can distinguish one character from another.

 

This webtoon is highly recommended for people who like the thriller genre. The reason is very simple, fast story pacing is very desirable in comics with the thriller genre, and the main character who is classified as unique in thriller comics, which is smart to see the situation to fight his enemy
